GEFA tree bracing
The development of new, flexible and even more powerful systems for tree bracing has been extremely dynamic in recent years. GEFA Produkte® Fabritz GmbH with its hollow braids, support slings and webbings was also involved in this development.
GEFA is constantly striving to develop even more innovative products. Providing the latest technologies is not only a concern, but also GEFA’s daily task. This task can only be solved if systems can be used in individual cases which take into account the most diverse theories of almost all experts.
GEFA hollow braids are all braided synthetic ropes in which, in contrast to conventional double braids or kernmantle ropes, the rope core has been left out. This turns the rope into a hose, simplifies the splicing process by which the connection is made many times over and also makes the ropes even lighter. The raw material provides the basis for the later properties of the ropes.
As part of the continuous development process, GEFA 2015 has revised and improved the complete range of hollow braid products made of polyamide (PA) and polyester (PES) up to 10 t breaking strength.
Due to a change in the number of fibres and the type of braiding, the initial breaking strength of GEFA hollow braids is even higher. At the same time, an improvement in spliceability was achieved. This ensures both better handling and an even higher degree of safety margin.
In response to numerous customer requests, GEFA has added a further tonnage to its existing hollow braid product range. Previously consisting of hollow braids with 2 t, 4 t, 7 t and 10 t breaking strength, a new 8 t polyester (PES) variant was added.
Pressure distribution and friction protection play a major role both for the service life of the installed securing components and for the trees themselves. Therefore, GEFA protective hoses, pressure-distributing anti-abrasion hoses and support slings are available.
In order to simplify the control of tree bracings with regard to the installation period, there is the year identification on roll in the year colours established on the market. The hose, which is cut off to approx. 10 cm, can be pulled over webbing as well as over hollow braids and is therefore universally applicable.
